June 9, 2020 — Scientists and mathematicians rejoice: In-line equations are here, with a few other enhancements for the rest of us.
In-Line Math
Previously, adding math within Notion pages required the Math Equation block. Now, you can include equations with other text, in-line. Simply place $$ on either side of your KaTeX formula.
Always Receive Email Alerts
Before today’s update, alerts were sent by email only if users had Notion closed on their computers and mobile devices. You can now opt to receive every alert by email. You’ll find the option under Settings & Members, then My notifications.
No More “Untitled Views”
When creating a new view in a database, its default title would be an undesirable “Untitled view.” Now, it’s automatically titled for its format, such as “Board view.”
Bug Fixes, Etc.
Today’s update also included a handful of smaller tweaks. From Notion itself:
- Improved formatting for Number property values formatted as currency, such as Yuan and Ruble
- The mobile Web Clipper now supports dark mode on iOS
- Fixed a bug that caused degraded performance on large pages
- Fixed a bug that caused Notion to crash when changing a page icon
- Fixed a bug that caused databases to scroll to the middle of the table when adding a new row
- Fixed a bug that caused the mobile apps to reset scroll position to the top of the menu when trying to add a page icon
- Fixed a bug that prevented users from adding comments on Android
